Find Good. Share Good. Celebrate Good.
Issue #001 · Monday, August 31, 2026
First issue. Here’s what this is: the good stuff around Fleming Island and Clay County, checked, dated, and linked.
This week the whole county gets an excuse to spend Friday close to home.

TODAY AROUND THE ISLAND
Storms likely between 2 and 4.
Heat index near 103, and a few could bring heavy rain. Do the outdoor stuff this morning.
904 Day is Friday, and the deals are already posted

September 4 is 904 Day, Northeast Florida’s standing excuse to eat, shop and poke around close to home. It isn’t one event at one place. It’s the whole county at once.
Explore Clay keeps a running list of who’s taking part, and it’s worth reading before Friday rather than deciding in the car. On there right now: a 904 Day sale at 5th & Paisley, a deal at Let’s Create Studios, an ice cream truck party package from ’Tis So Sweet, 20% off at the Courtyard in Orange Park, and advance tickets to the rodeo.
Two that aren’t on that page: Irie Diner is doing a $12 Caribbean lunch, and Thrasher-Horne has 10% off its own shows with the code 904Day.
Food Truck Friday is going teal for the Jags the same night, which feels about right.

🐶 Adoptable Pet of the Week: Joey

Joey has a big kennel bark, and his profile all but begs you not to judge him by it, because out in a big yard he’s a different dog entirely.
He’s four, he loves car rides and water, and he wants an active family and a house where he’s the only dog. No cats either, and the shelter has him down as needing an experienced home.
Ask for animal ID SAFE-A-24375. Safe Animal Shelter, 1754 Cider Cove, Middleburg. Open every day, 11am to 6pm.
Not in a position to adopt? They always need foster homes. A foster spot frees up a kennel, which is the thing that lets a shelter say yes to the next dog.
One more good thing
Labor Day lands Monday the 7th. County offices, all five libraries, and Animal Services are closed.
Curbside pickup runs like normal though, and Rosemary Hill keeps regular hours. The holiday doesn't affect your trash pickup. The county’s full list.
