Morning, Fleming Island 👋

Fleming Island didn't just win homecoming; they shut it out. 46-0.

And if you're reading this over a late coffee… both Saturday festivals run until 3, and the rain now holds off until 4. You have time. 🌴

Fleming Island shut out Ridgeview on Friday night, 46-0, and did it about every way a team can.

Touchdowns on the ground. A two-point conversion. A field goal. A blocked punt that handed them the field. And a punt return straight back for a score.

The defense didn't give up a single point.

That evens the season at 2-2 after the Oakleaf loss, and it was the right night for it; the school honored first responders before kickoff for the twenty-fifth anniversary of September 11.

Next up: Ponte Vedra, at home, Friday at 7.

Around the county

Clay 63, Orange Park 18. Clay ran away with the all-Clay County matchup.

St. Augustine 48, Middleburg 6.

Oakleaf was off this week.

🎃 Still three hours to use

Both of Saturday's festivals are on until 3, both free to walk into, both in Green Cove Springs.

Fall Festival — Clay County Fairgrounds. A hundred-plus vendors, food trucks, music.
No Man's Land Chili Challenge — Military Museum of North Florida, 990 Roland Ave.

And the forecast improved overnight. Yesterday it said showers after 2, which would have taken the last hour of both. Now it's storms after 4 — so the whole festival window is clear. Heat index near 106, though, so take water.

Tonight — Darron Ronan, Mike Cook, and Groove Blanket run back-to-back at Whitey's from noon. Julia Gulia at Encore, 8. And the Carpenters tribute is at Thrasher-Horne, 7:30, from $37.

Tomorrow — Ann Wilson at Thrasher-Horne, 6:30, from $47. The voice of Heart. The Historical Society museum is open 2 to 5 on Walnut Street, and Steff Botha plays Whitey's 2 to 6.

🏡 Open houses this weekend

We don't have any submitted yet, so here's the honest version: realMLS runs a free public open-house search, no account needed, and it's the fastest way to see what's open around Fleming Island today and tomorrow.

And a standing invitation to local agents: if you've got an open house, send it, and we'll run it. Address, time, price, your name, and a link. Free, and it always will be. We don't sell placement in this newsletter, and we're not going to start.

Before you go... tell me something good 💛
