Tomorrow is sunny, 82, with basically no rain in the forecast.
We told you twice to keep Saturday the 26th free. Here is the full plan, and somehow the weather turned out to be the best part of it. 🌴

Sunny, and it drops to 60 tonight.
A 3% chance of rain and a north wind of 10 to 15, gusting to 23. Clear this evening, and cool enough after dark that you may want a jacket.

Six things, and the forecast is sunny and 82 with basically no rain at all.
They are laid out in time order, and most of them do not clash. You can do the morning and still make the evening.
10:00 AM to 3:00 PM · End of Summer Market
Black Creek Marketplace, 3031 Eagle Pass Pt, Green Cove Springs, just across the Black Creek bridge. Arts, crafts, food, and entertainment. Their words: "Come out and support your local businesses!" It runs the last Saturday of every month.
11:00 AM to 2:00 PM · Fleming Island Vendor Village
On the green in front of the Village Square shops, across Village Square Parkway from Baptist Clay. It is outdoors on the grass, which is the whole point on a day like tomorrow.
1:00 to 4:00 PM · Blacksmith demonstration
Fleming Island Library, outdoors. Jacob Underhill of Underhill's Forge will be there for three hours, and you can drop in anytime. He forges things out of railroad spikes. All ages.
Noon onward · Whitey's, three acts
2032 CR 220. Joe Dowling at noon, Mike Cook at 4:00, Pink Paisley at 8:00.
6:00 to 9:00 PM · Concert on the Green
The FIP Gazebo, 2327 Market Drive, on the green behind the shops. North of 40 Band and food trucks. In their words, "bring your trusty lawn chair or blanket for seating."
7:00 PM, doors at 6:00 · Crack Up Comedy Night
Spotlight Events Center, 1809 East-West Parkway. Eric Erlacher, Alex Fitzjohn, Alex Sanders, and Eugene Singleton. Your ticket includes beer, wine, soda, and snacks.
🎭 Blithe Spirit · 7:30 PM · The Island Theater, 1860 Town Hall Circle #54
The only real decision comes after six. Concert on the Green is outdoors and free, Crack Up Comedy is indoors with a ticket, and Blithe Spirit starts at 7:30. Take your pick.

There is a drive-in movie at the Clay County Fairgrounds tonight, and the forecast is clear and dropping to 60.

Clay County Fairgrounds, 2497 SR 16 W, Green Cove Springs
$35 a car, $50 for the VIP car load, or $10 to walk up with your own chair. Back the truck in and watch from the tailgate, or put the hatch up on the SUV. Pizza Pit Stop and Moo Moo's Ice Cream Truck are both on site, so you do not need to eat first.

💃 Line Dancing for Absolute Beginners

No experience or partner needed. Taught by Cheri and Kym of The Line Dance Experience. Teens are welcome with a parent.
🏈 Fleming Island at Orange Park · 7:00 PM
The Golden Eagles are 2-3 overall, which undersells it. They are 1-0 in district play, and that is the record that matters for the postseason. Orange Park is 2-3 as well. Away game.

☀️ The pool closes Sunday, and that is the season
Green Cove Springs City Pool shuts for the year on Sunday, September 27. This weekend is the last one.
229 Walnut Street. Open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 11 AM to 7 PM.
Cash only. No cards, no checks. $5 for adults, $3 for active military and seniors 65 and over, $3 for children 2 to 17, and under 2 is free.
One thing worth knowing before you drive over. The whole pool area, water and deck together, holds 75 people. On the last sunny Sunday of the season, I would go early.
The splash pad next door is open daily, 11 AM to 8 PM, and it is free.
