Issue #020 · Friday, October 2, 2026

Morning, Fleming Island 👋

This is one of our fullest weekends yet. The forecast noticed.

Here's the plan, with an umbrella built in. 🌴

⛈️

89° / 74°

HIGH / LOW

TODAY AROUND THE ISLAND

Hot, sticky, and stormy later.

It'll feel close to 100 this afternoon, and storms are likely from mid-afternoon into tonight. Saturday and Sunday both look wet too.

🏷️ Two neighborhoods, one big yard sale tomorrow

Twice a year, Fleming Island Plantation and Margaret's Walk hold a community yard sale. Tomorrow is one of those days.

Residents sell from their own driveways from 9 AM to 4 PM, and everyone's welcome.

There's no map, and you don't need one. The CDD puts a banner at the Fleming Plantation Blvd entrance off SR 17 and signs at each neighborhood entrance. Follow the signs.

Saturday, October 3, 9 AM to 4 PM. Bring cash, and bring an umbrella. Rain is likely.

🛍️ The Saturday Market is back

The Fleming Island Saturday Market took the summer off. Tomorrow it's back.

In their words, it's "our first market after the summer break," and they're marking it with free prizes and a bounce house.

Expect sourdough, plants and flowers, freeze-dried candy, jewelry, crafts, clothing, skincare, gourmet olive oil and vinegar, and more. Then grab breakfast or lunch at one of the restaurants in the center.

Saturday, October 3, 9:30 AM to 2 PM, Village Square, across from Fleming Island High. It's a few minutes from the yard sale, so you can do both.

Rain or not, it's good to have it back.

Before you go... tell me something good 💛

See a new business opening? Know of an event we should add to the calendar? Got a neighbor doing something wonderful, a local team having a big season, or just something good happening around Fleming Island?

Send it our way. This only gets better when all of us help find the good stuff.

❤️ Tell Us Something Good: A neighbor doing something kind. A kid doing something awesome. Something new going in or on around town. Anything that makes you think, "people around here should know about this."

📅 Submit an Event: Live music at a local restaurant, a fundraiser, a festival, a market, a school activity. Anything locals can put on their calendar.

⭐ Get Featured: Own a local business? Tell us your story through a short interview and give the community a chance to meet the people behind it.

One question before you go. Hit reply and tell me: where do you go on the island when it rains all weekend? I'll share the best answers.

See you tomorrow,

Shelly 🌴
