Morning, Fleming Island 👋
It's going to rain today. And tomorrow. And, well... you get the idea.
The wet stretch is sticking around most of the week, and the National Weather Service is also watching the St. Johns as northeast winds pick up.
Forecasters now expect tidal flooding from Wednesday through the weekend along the river and its tidal creeks. If you live or park near the water, it's worth keeping an eye on.
The good news: Monday night still has plenty going on. 🌴

🏈 The weekend in football
Jaguars 22, Bengals 17. Not the blowout of last week, but Jacksonville went into Cincinnati and found a way to win. The Jaguars are 3-1.
Cam Little made all three of his field goals, including kicks from 55 and 54 yards, and the defense picked off Joe Burrow twice, one each for Jourdan Lewis and Foye Oluokun. Trevor Lawrence went 18 of 23 with a touchdown and no interceptions.
Next up is the Eagles in London. That's the 9:30 AM kickoff on Sunday.
Saturday's college scores
Missouri 45, Florida 17. A week after knocking off fourth-ranked Ole Miss, the eighth-ranked Gators went to No. 25 Missouri and lost by four touchdowns. It's Florida's first loss of the season.
Georgia 38, Vanderbilt 14. The second-ranked Bulldogs took care of business at home.
Florida State 38, Virginia 7. A second straight win for the Seminoles, and a convincing one.

🐾 Meet Bundy
Bundy has been at Safe Animal Shelter since July 15, 2025. That's almost fifteen months.
He's a 4-year-old Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix, all 83 pounds of him, and one of the tags on his listing says Loves Water. This is his kind of week.
The shelter describes a smart, high-energy dog who will push a herding ball around the yard for hours. If it bounces or rolls, he's interested. He's crate-trained and house-trained; he likes car rides, and he’s finished his heartworm treatment.
Two things worth knowing before you go. The shelter wants him in a home with no other pets and only older kids, and he's a strong boy who jumps and pulls on the leash, so he needs someone who'll keep up the training.
Safe Animal Shelter, 1754 Cider Cove, Middleburg. Open every day, 11 AM to 6 PM. (904) 375-9122.

⛳ New date: golf for Clay County's Special Olympians
If you saw this one over the summer, the date has moved. The Clay County Special Olympics golf tournament is now Tuesday, October 20, 5:30 to 8:30 PM at Top of the Tee, the same place as Mulligan Mondays.
It's a nine-hole Toptracer scramble, plus a long drive contest, a raffle, and a silent auction. The money supports Clay County Special Olympics athletes through year-round training, competition, equipment, uniforms, transportation, and health and wellness programs.
A four-person team is $200, and the long drive is $10 for three balls. You pick a 5:30 or 7:00 tee time when you sign up.
You have two weeks to round up a team. Somebody in your group chat is better at golf than they let on.
🗣️ Ask the Town
The Jaguars kick off at 9:30 Sunday morning, in London. So where's the best place around here to watch it over breakfast?
Hit reply and tell me. The best answers run in Friday's issue.
Before you go... tell me something good 💛
