The hurricane is headed for the northern Gulf Coast. We get its rain, and a river that's already high.
So this weekend's plan leans indoors, with a Sunday breakfast built around a 9:30 kickoff. 🌴

A 90% chance of showers and storms today, with northeast gusts near 30. Saturday stays wet. Sunday looks a lot better.
🌀 Isaias, the rain, and the river
Hurricane Isaias is headed for the northern Gulf Coast, with landfall expected late Friday or early Saturday. We're nowhere near the warning area.
Clay isn't one of the 27 counties in the governor's state of emergency, either. What we get is the rain: a 90% chance of showers and storms today and about 80% Saturday.
A Flood Watch is in effect for Clay through late tonight. The weather service says another 1 to 3 inches of rain could fall on ground that's already soaked, so flash flooding is possible. Don't drive through standing water.
The river's the part to watch. A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect until 2 PM Saturday, and the weather service expects minor flooding around high tide along the St. Johns into Saturday. If you live on the water, keep an eye on the high tides:

The Jaguars play the Eagles in London on Sunday, and kickoff is 9:30 AM our time. That's breakfast.

Open at 7 AM Sunday for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. You'll be seated well before kickoff.

Weekend breakfast runs 8 to 11, with $5 mimosas and Bloody Marys, and the pub shows Jags games.
🍗 Mr. Chubby's Wings · 2349 Village Square Pkwy
Usually opens at 11 on Sundays. This Sunday the doors open at 8:30 for the game.
Indoors, a big screen, and somebody else doing the dishes. Not a bad way to spend a rainy morning. 🐆
🥞 Grumpy's opens Monday on Fleming Island
Grumpy's Restaurant opens its newest location Monday, October 12, at 1803 East-West Parkway. It's the diner's sixth Northeast Florida spot, and their site lists hours of 5:30 AM to 2 PM.

A porch karaoke contest where the audience picks the winner, and the winner takes home $120. Porch Fest ticket holders vote, and anyone else can buy a $1 song ticket to cast a vote. It all goes to restoring the Rivers House.

Saturday night, Walnut Street in Green Cove Springs turns into a small-town fall festival.
Essence of You is hosting, with local vendors, food trucks, face painting, games, candy and treats, live music, and plenty of witches and costumes. Admission is free.
Saturday, October 10, 5 to 9 PM, on Walnut Street around Essence of You at 403 Walnut St. It's a short walk from the start of the Boutique Crawl, so you could make a day of it.
One honest note: Saturday evening still looks stormy, with about a 75% chance of rain. Check with Essence of You before you head over.
