Morning, Fleming Island 👋
Fall finally showed up this weekend, and so did a whole lot of us at the Orange Park Fall Festival.
I was out there, and my grandson had a blast in the bouncy houses. His review of the festival was mostly inflatable. This week brings sunny, cool days, a golf night for a good cause, and Halloween coming up fast. 🌴

North winds gusting into the 20s today, and tonight drops to about 55. Tuesday looks much the same, near 75.
One river note: the Coastal Flood Advisory for minor flooding along the St. Johns has been extended until 8 PM Tuesday. This morning's high tide is predicted around 8 at NOAA's Red Bay Point station, so watch low spots near the water around high tide.
⛳ Your Tuesday golf night can do some good
The Clay County Sheriff's Office is hosting a golf fundraiser Tuesday, 5:30 to 8:30 PM, at Fleming Island Golf Club, 2260 Town Center Blvd. It's a 9-hole Toptracer scramble at Top of the Tee, benefiting Special Olympics Florida and the Law Enforcement Torch Run.
A four-person team is $200, with tee times at 5:30 or 7. The long drive contest is $10 for three balls or $20 for ten. And if you'd rather just give, there's a donation option on the same page.

Texans 34, Jaguars 31. Cam Little hit a 60-yard field goal to tie it with 1:55 left, but Houston's Ka'imi Fairbairn won it with a 49-yarder as time ran out at Wembley.
Trevor Lawrence threw four touchdown passes, two of them to Bhayshul Tuten. The Jaguars are 4-2, have a bye this week, and host the Colts on November 1.

Florida 27, Texas 24. The unranked Gators won on the road at No. 7 Texas.
Auburn 27, Georgia 24. No. 1 Georgia got upset at home.
Miami 43, Florida State 35. The Seminoles fell at No. 3 Miami in double overtime.
Closer to home
Fleming Island beat Middleburg 31-19 on Friday night. Around the county, Clay beat Ridgeview 33-0, Oakleaf beat Matanzas 28-0, and St. Augustine beat Orange Park 52-8. The Golden Eagles play at St. Augustine this Friday.
🐾 Meet Draco
Draco has been at Safe Animal Shelter since January 30. That's more than eight months of waiting.
He's about two and a half, a 50-pound mixed breed with energy to spare, and he's obsessed with tennis balls. He knows sit, paw, lay down, and place, and the shelter calls him "a total hugger."
He's good with most other dogs, though the shelter says he has his "don't-talk-to-me days." He'd do best in an adult-only home and walks on a harness. The shelter also says he "can be quite vocal and likes to express himself."
