Morning, Fleming Island 👋

Tomorrow is Election Day, and the fair's early-bird deal ends Wednesday.

Here's what to know before you vote, a week of things to do close to home, the weekend's scores, and a sweet girl named Freesia who has been waiting 19 months for a home. 🐶

River note: A Coastal Flood Advisory for the St. Johns runs until 7 PM today, for minor flooding of lots, parks, and low roads. High tides at Red Bay Point are around 6:56 AM and 7:43 PM. Don't drive through flooded roads. Latest from NWS →

🗳️ Election Day is tomorrow

Polls are open 7 AM to 7 PM Tuesday. If you're in line at 7, you still get to vote.

On Election Day, vote at your assigned precinct. Check your polling place before heading out, even if you usually vote early.

Bring a current photo ID with your signature, like a Florida driver's license or U.S. passport. If your photo ID doesn't have a signature, bring a second ID that does. If you don't have acceptable ID, you can still vote a provisional ballot.

Still holding a mail ballot? It has to reach the Supervisor of Elections by 7 PM Tuesday. A postmark doesn't count, so at this point drop it off in person at the elections office, 500 N. Orange Ave. in Green Cove Springs.

🐾 Meet Freesia

Nineteen months is a long time to wait for your people. Freesia has been waiting since April 2025.

She's about two and a half, around 40 pounds, and loves tennis balls, fetch, water, and car rides. Her shelter profile describes her as affectionate, playful, and house-trained, and she's finished her heartworm treatment.

She'd do best as the only dog in a home with older kids. She's staying with a foster family now, so contact Safe Animal Shelter to arrange a meeting.
